Margaret Duley’s story comes to life in Tapestry’s first artist portrayal video 

After an incredible launch, featuring The Ennis Sisters and their original song Wildfire, Opera on the Avalon’s Tapestry is bringing the story of one of Newfoundland and Labrador’s most celebrated literary figures, Margaret Duley, to your screen. The role of Margaret is performed by Beatrice Vincent. 

Written by Sabrina Pinksen and directed by Roger Maunder, this portrayal represents Margaret Duley who was a pioneering novelist who was born in St. John’s and educated both locally and abroad. Her life was impacted by the First World War, which led her toward writing and public service. She was an active supporter of the women’s suffrage movement and a champion for equal rights, becoming a prominent voice in both cultural and social spheres. Duley is remembered as a trailblazer whose work and advocacy helped shape Newfoundland and Labrador’s literary and social history. 

Filmed on location in Cotswold and Bath, England, Tapestry: Margaret Duley is produced by Cheryl Hickman with Director of Photography and Camera Operator David Howells, Camera and Drone Operator Dru Kennedy, Head of Wardrobe Keith Roberts, Co-Head of Hair and Makeup Vivien Pomeroy, Co-Head of Hair and Makeup Allison Best, Production Coordinator Deborah Jarrell, Grip and Production Assistant Christopher Payne.
